Shavanna King is a dedicated and passionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. Her journey in the field began in 2006, and since then, she has cultivated a rich background in nursing, progressing through various roles before specializing in psychiatric care. Shavanna earned her Master of Science in Nursing, with focus as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, from Jacksonville University. Additionally, she holds both an Associate and Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Florida State College at Jacksonville and a certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse from East Central Technical College in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Her diverse nursing career includes experience in Medical-Surgical, Emergency Medicine, and Pediatric office settings, which she transitioned from in 2009 to pursue her passion for psychiatric nursing. She has served the Jacksonville community in various capacities, including as a Clinical Director of Outpatient Services, specializing in inpatient crisis stabilization and intensive case management at a local nonprofit.
Shavanna’s clinical philosophy centers on collaboration and empowerment. She believes in working alongside her patients to help them identify their mental health goals and providing them with the tools and coping strategies to achieve meaningful, lasting change. Her practice is founded on a patient-centered approach that emphasizes active partnership and mutual respect. She is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, utilizing the latest guidelines and best practices to ensure optimal outcomes.
